NB: A knowledge of Swedish is a general
eligibility requirement in Sweden for studies at post-secondary
level.
The performance/conducting/composition programmes confer
professional competence as a practising musician, both as a
soloist and
as a member of orchestras, ensembles or choirs. The studies are
intended to develop your artistic and technical ability,
to give you a
good knowledge of repertoire and to deepen your artistic insight.
The programme can be taken concurrently with the Pedagogic Programme for Musicians so as to acquire both artistic and teaching qualifications. (This does not apply, however, to Performance programmes with a Music and Media Technology profile.) If you wish to take this type of combination from the very outset, you must apply for both programmes at once.
In order to be eligible for undergraduate studies you must be
able to demonstrate that you have completed a full curriculum at a
recognized upper secondary school resulting in at least 12 years of
schooling in your home country.
For admission to the programme, you must pass entrance examinations, where you need to demonstrate high artistic and technical skills in your chosen specialist area. Your result and ranking will be decisive for your admission.
