KMH Guest Student Programme is a one-year programme, 60 ECTS, on advanced level open for international applicants already holding a bachelor in music. Students in the guest student programme follow mainly the same courses included in one year of a regular degree programme of their specialization. Some individual adaption may be possible as for example with elective courses. The guest student programme does not lead to a degree but a certificate of studies including passed courses are awarded after completed studies.
Actual students at or former students graduated no longer than a year ago from a Music Academy / Conservatory / College /Musikhochschule abroad at the same level as KMH (higher education institution, i.e. university level) not participating in an exchange programme may apply to KMH guest student programme for a maximum of one academic year. Those applicants don’t have to take part in the entrance examinations (unless they want to do so, and with the exception of conducting applicants) but instead have to submit a high quality recording directly to KMH (see below) after the registration at the on-line application system http://www.universityadmissions.se and having sent required papers to: University Admissions in Sweden, FE 1, SE–833 83 Stroemsund, Sweden. The recording will be part of the selection procedure deciding which applicants to admit. (Exception is conducting students who personally have to participate in entrance examinations in Stockholm if they have been selected through the recording and invited).
Application to guest student programme
The deadline for guest student programme applications is normally JANUARY 15 each year. Complete applications must be registered at the application platform http://www.universityadmissions.se no later than this date. The KMH programmes are open for application from the beginning of December. The following shall be submitted.

Certified paper copies should be submitted to; University Admissions in Sweden, FE 1, SE–833 83 Stroemsund, Sweden, due to the instructions in the on-line system, such as;
Copy of passport or national ID card
Transcripts/diplomas proving a Bachelor degree in Music.
No such documents shall be sent to KMH!
To KMH you shall send:
A good quality, unedited recording (maximum 10 minutes) of your playing/singing, containing three different pieces/movements demonstrating different genres/styles/époques. For Jazz students, the recording shall include one of your own compositions, and at least one piece where you perform a live improvisation of your own (no transcriptions) on your main instrument together with an ensemble/rhythm section. Conductors and eurhythmic students include a video/DVD and composers should send scores and/or recordings.
Send your recording/scores to: Kungl. Musikhögskolan, Studiecentrum (Admissions Office), P. O. Box 27711, SE-115 91 Stockholm, Sweden. Label the envelope with: Arbetsprov (work samples). Mark the recording/scores with your name, applied programme and the application/reference number you receive when you register at the on-line application system universityadmssions.se
