This programme leads to a Degree of Master (one year) in Music education. It is open for students with at least a 180 ECTS music teacher programme or corresponding qualifications and professional experience of using music in an educational or health-care context. You can also be eligible on the strength of other higher education (psychologist, teacher, occupational therapist, physician or suchlike) plus documented practical and theoretical knowledge of music.
The profile, which is based on a humanist view of music, is process-oriented and aims to integrate musical and therapeutic competence. The studies confer a knowledge of how music is used for purposes of health promotion and therapy. The programme includes theoretical studies, methodology, practical exercises and supervised work experience placement.
The programme has a psychotherapeutic emphasis, which means that in connection with it the students themselves must undergo therapy.
