Årets instrument

The event has taken place

The Violin meets live-electronics at this concert. Students attending their second year from both the Electroacoustic and art music bachelors have composed the music in collaboration with the soloist Karin Hellqvist.

Voices - William Sundman Sääf, Joel Janson Johansen, Jonathan Söderlund
Maxpatch - Joel Janson Johansen

Music around word for word real strong memories.

— (De)granulation - composed by Serena K,
This experimental piece is based on a tape track of granular synthesis upon fragments of compositions in Messiaens mode 5. It is later accompanied with recorded improvisations on my octave stringed violin and written material for the violinist Karin Hellqvist, following a longer period of collaboration workshops. The title relates not only to granular synthesis but also to the physical stress of degranulation in the rare condition Mast cellsactivation syndrome.

— Quartet - composed by Joel Janson Johansen
This is a piece that explores the sonic possibilities of playing audio at different speeds. The idea is that the live recorded sounds will mimic qualities from the other instruments in the same family as the violin, and that they together will form a string quartet out of only one performer. Unconsciously connected to the past year.

— Secluded - composed by Simon Söderberg

— Temporal Canons: No. 1 - 3 - composed by Linus Hillborg
This is a first experiment in repurposing of materials, played back in contrasting divisions of speed, to create canons. It presents an opportunity for interplay with oneself in a distinct temporal realm, a ’past present’.
