Lourdina Baboun Ghattas, violin

Examenskonsert, master klassisk musik

Warm welcome to my masters exam concert.

Beethoven, Kreutzer violin sonata No.9, Op. 47 in A minor (1803). It is a sonata full of emotions. The range of tempo, volume, and key throughout the piece are all delicately positioned to evoke feelings of anger, sadness, love and passion.

Shostakovich Piano Trio No. 2 in E minor (1944). It is a work that reflects the tragic circumstances of the period and the loss of Shostakovich musicologist friend Ivan Sollertinsky.

Musicans:

Lourdina Baboun Ghattas, violin
Elena Reznikova, piano
Katariina Kolehmainen, cello
Octavian Andrei Leyva Dragomir, piano
