KMH closes for all education, examination and events involving physical meetings

As a result of the government's new directive, KMH will close for all teaching and examination which involves physical meetings starting March 18. This applies to Valhallavägen, Campus Edsberg and all other premises where teaching or examination is planned.

Concerts are cancelled and studios close

Concerts will not be held at all and will be cancelled from Wednesday 18 March. This also applies to KMH concerts that take place elsewhere.

The possibility of recording with sound engineers in KMH's studios ceases from Wednesday, March 18.

Teaching in the near future will be be held online

Online classes will start Monday, March 23 and thereafter, classes will be held according to the schedule that has already been set for the in-person classes.

An email with instructions will be sent to all teachers . Students will be contacted by their teachers and can also contact their director of studies or the Head of Academy.

No teaching involving physical meetings is allowed in other premises or private homes.


KMH campus Valhallavägen opens for individual practice

As of May 4, 2020, students who have nowhere else to practice, can book a room at KMH for individual practice. A liability agreement must be signed beforehand. Find all information here.

Loans of instruments

Loans from the Support service desk will be limited only to equipment necessary for educational purposes. 

Practice

Instrumental practice can take place until Friday, March 20 at. 23:00 h. Thereafter, both Valhallavägen and Edsberg are closed for teaching and practice.

How long will this last?

Teaching and practice at KMH premises as well as the concert activities will be closed for the time being. Unfortunately, we have no possibility to make predictions about when we can open again.

CSN

The government has now announced that even those who cannot continue studying when the university closes as a result of the new Corona virus, should be able to keep their financial student support. CSN will therefore continue to disburse student aid even if the university cannot offer distance learning. You do not need to contact CSN.

Library

The library will be open with self-service for students and staff until Friday 20 March at 15.00. After that it is closed but it will be possible to get search help and other help with our digital resources remotely.

All loans will be extended until June 5. Automatic reminders may be sent out initially, but borrowers can ignore them. They will cease as soon as we have had time to extend the loans.

IT Support

As of tomorrow, March 18, the IT department will only be able to receive IT enquiries from employees and students via the help desk system or in urgent cases by telephone. On-site support for users will not be possible.

Contact with the IT department is made by e-mail to helpdesk@kmh.se or in urgent matters phone 08 - 16 19 39.

KMH will be open to the public via registrator@kmh.se.

Management and all administrative staff work as usual but remotely via digital tools.

Advice and recommendations from these public authorities are being continuously updated online. Students and employees are therefore urged to keep themselves informed via these websites.

Protect yourself and others

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water and use hand sanitizer if possible (influenza virus dies from hand sanitizer)
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  • As much as possible, maintain social distancing between yourself and anyone who you are not certain is not ill. Do not greet eachother by shaking hands etc.

KMH recommends employees and students who are abroad to register on the Swedish list- Sweden abroadexternal link at UD for updated information from the embassy.

As a result of the government's new directive, KMH will close for all teaching and examination which involves physical meetings starting March 18. This applies to Valhallavägen, Campus Edsberg and all other premises where teaching or examination is planned.

KMH's two campuses will remain open until Friday, March 20, 23:00 so that students and staff will have the opportunity to pick up belongings and work material. The support service desk continues to be open until Friday, March 20 18:00.

Concerts are cancelled and studios close

All classes, with the exception of pre-planned distance education, will be cancelled completely from Wednesday 18 March to Friday 20 March, to give teachers the opportunity to switch to online teaching as well as familiarize themselves with the tools and possibilites available. Online classes will start Monday, March 23 and thereafter, classes will be held according to the schedule that has already been set for the in-person classes.
