The course gives you access to excellent instructors in Classical Music at Edsbergs Castle and at Campus Valhallavägen.

Course Content

The course is available for full-time study.

The following content is included in the course:

  • studies on very high technical level on your instrument,
  • repertoire studies, which can be characterized by music history, or focused on a particular stylistic selection,
  • internal and public concert performances as soloist, orchestra musician and ensemble musician,
  • seminars on national musical life as far as cultural policy authorities, orchestral institutions and organizers in general are concerned.

Admissions

To be eligible for the course, you need to meet

  • the general entry requirements for second-cycle studies
  • the specific entry requirements which are
    • a Degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music (180 credits), and
    • passed course Main Instrument 1, Master, Classical, CA1002 (20 credits) at KMH, or an equivalent course from another institution.

Selection is based on an entrance test. If the number of eligible applicants exceeds the number of places available in the program, admission will be determined based on the results of the entrance test. Applicants are placed in a selection group according to their instrument.

An email is sent to the email address you entered on universityadmissions.se with instructions on how to submit your test to KMH including the link for uploading Test 1. See the test description for information on what to submit.

26 January 2026

9–18 February 2026

Results for Test 1 are sent via email. Passing applicants will receive an invitation and information about the next test.

7–15 March 2026

Entrance examinations during week 11 (and adjacent weekends).

15 April 2026

First notification of selection result. You must reply to keep your place or remain on the waiting list.

28 April 2026

Second notification of selection result.
