Test description for Interpretation 1
When you apply to this program, you need to take an entrance exam. Here is everything you need to know to complete the tests as well as a description of how the tests are assessed.

Test 1 – Digital audition
The first audition is digital. This test is a selection that determines which
applicants will get to take the remaining tests.
Record a video of yourself performing 1-2 pieces of your own choice (about 5-
10 minutes), demonstrating your instrumental/vocal technique as well as your
musical ability. Name the file with your name and instrument.
For applicants on piano, violin, viola and cello:
Write a short message about which campus (Edsberg or Valhallavägen) you would like to attend in priority. Mark the document with name, social security
number and your instrument and make it a PDF file.
After you have submitted your application at universityadmissions.se External link. and once the application deadline has passed, you will receive instructions via email about how to submit your test to KMH. You are therefore encouraged to prepare Test 1 in advance, before receiving the email.
Instructions for the video recording
For your video to be admissible, you need to
- Provide proof of your identity by showing a photo ID card together with your face in the video. State the name of the piece you will perform and the test code.
- Perform your piece. Your face and your hands must be visible throughout the entire video. It should be easy to see both you and your instrument.
- Record your video in one single uninterrupted take. No clips or other edits are allowed.
- It is fine to make your video with a mobile phone, but make sure your setup allows you to record without too much room acoustic, distortion, or noise. All recordings should have good image quality with sharp focus and good light.
- Allowed formats are MP4 or MOV. Try to keep the file size around 500 MB if possible. Click here for a guide

If you do not follow these instructions, and we find that your video shows signs of modification, your audition may be disqualified from consideration.
Test code: LS 31.1 Main subject classical music – Step 1
Test time: 5-10 minutes
Assessment and result: The result is evaluated on a pass (1) or fail (0) basis.
Your result will be notified by email. Passing applicants will proceed to the next test.
Test 2 – Audition on campus
This test is conducted on-site on campus.
Prepare a program of 20 minutes that displays your artistic and technical level. Write and bring your printed repertoire list to the test and give it to the jury.
Pianist for accompaniment is available at the audition. If you want accompaniment for your test, you need to bring sheet music.

Assessment: The test is a basis for the selection. Score scale 25-50 points.
