National Artistic Research School

Konstnärliga forskarskolan was a national research school in the field of arts, in operation between September 2010 and August 2015. Its overall purpose was to create a nationwide support for developing postgraduate education within the framework of the Swedish artistic PhD degree.

An important objective of Konstnärliga forskarskolan was to constitute a stimulating and productive environment for the associated artists in a field characterised by a plurality of genres, disciplines and approaches.

The research school organized general seminars with courses and presentations involving all the artistic disciplines together, but also subject seminars, which allowed for highly specialized discussions.

Twelve universities and university colleges with a number of faculties and departments organized the school, which was administered by the Faculties of Fine Arts in Gothenburg and Malmö/Lund.

KMH has had two doctoral students in the national research school.
