Whistleblower Function
Here you can find information on how to report any misconduct that you believe there is a public interest in revealing. The report can be made openly or anonymously by employees and students at KMH.
What is the whistleblower function?
The whistleblower function is for KMH employees and students who make observations about corruption or other serious irregularities.
The function is intended to facilitate the reporting of irregularities that KMH would otherwise not have become aware of.
KMH's whistleblower function is managed by an external party, the auditing and advisory firm KPMG. You make your report through KPMG's whistleblowing reporting channel.
When should you report to the whistleblower function?
Reports to the whistleblower function should concern irregularities that there is a public interest in revealing. This may concern observations linked to persons in the organization's management, persons who have the right to make decisions about or manage the organization's funds, as well as other key persons in the organization. This may concern irregularities related to accounting, internal accounting control, auditing, combating bribery, or other serious irregularities that concern the organization's vital interests or the life and health of individuals.
The whistleblower function is tasked with either handling the report itself or ensuring that it reaches the correct recipient within KMH's organization. Depending on who the report concerns, the following persons may be recipients of the report; Chairman of the Board, Vice-Chancellor, Director of the University and Head of Human Resources.
KPMG ensures that a report is not forwarded to anyone within KMH who is affected by the report. A report to the whistleblower function must be made in good faith and must not be made with the aim of discrediting anyone or for personal gain. Anyone who intentionally provides incorrect information may be guilty of a criminal offense.
Can I report anonymously?
Reporting to the whistleblower function can be done openly or anonymously by employees and students at KMH.
It is important that the whistleblower function has the opportunity to contact the person reporting, as there will most likely be a need for additional information during the course of the investigation. For this reason, it is recommended, regardless of how the initial contact is made, that you as the reporter have access to an email address. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can create a temporary email address that does not reveal your identity.
What should the notification contain?
The report should contain as clear a description as possible of what the observations regarding corruption or irregularities consist of.
- State who/what the observation applies to.
- Any supporting documents for the observation can be attached to the report.
- Contact details are recommended.
