Step-by-step guide on how to apply for a programme

The application for Bachelor's and Master's programmes is open 1 December 2025 – 15 January 2026. You submit your application online on universityadmissions.se.

1. Find your education and check the entry requirements

Start by deciding which programme you want to apply for and check the entry requirements. Each one of our programmes has general and specific entry requirements, which you find in the syllabus for the programme.

The general entry requirements depend on what level of studies you are applying to – Bachelor's level (first-cycle studies) or Master's level (second-cycle studies). You need to meet the general entry requirements for all higher education in Sweden, no matter which programme or course you apply to.

Read more about the general entry requirements

The specific entry requirements vary depending on the programme and and all programmes include entrance examination tests. The entrance examination tests serves both as a qualifying requirement to determine eligibility and as a basis for ranking candidates in the selection process. Each programme has its own test description, which you can find on the programme page.

These test descriptions provide detailed information about what you need to prepare in advance – such as repertoire, scores, or recordings – and explain how the tests are conducted. We recommend that you carefully read the test description for the programme you are interested in, to ensure you understand all requirements and can prepare accordingly.

Please also refer to the Application dates and deadlines listed on each programme page, to ensure you don’t miss any important steps in the admission process.
