Programmes in Classical music
The content of the three-year Bachelor’s Programme in Classical Music aims at developing in-depth skills on your instrument to give you a solid foundation for working as a professional musician in the national and international music scene. We offer tuition on over 20 different instruments. The master’s programmes offer several programmes with teaching at the highest international level.
You can also study piano, violin, viola and violoncello at our campus Edsberg at both bachelor's and master's in the form of thematic studies. Chamber music is an important part of the programme and the students form Edsberg Chamber Orchestra together.
In the early music programme you can immerse yourself in music from the medieval times down to and including the early Romantic period on both bachelor's and master's level. Chamber music is an integral part of the programme. You can apply to the programme with several baroque and renaissance instruments and vocals.
The bachelor’s programme in church music is a broad education that gives you the prerequisites for employment as a church musician. The Master’s programme in Church Music has two profiles: Vocal with Choral Conducting in focus, and Instrumental with organ in focus.
You can also study classical music in the teacher education programmes.
KMH also has Sweden’s only education for piano technicians at university level.
