Entrance Tests for Performance, Music Production
When you apply to this programme, you need to take an entrance examination test. Here is everything you need to know to complete the test.

Test 1 – Portfolio and presentation
In connection with your application on universityadmissions.se we need you to send in a portfolio and a presentation to KMH.
The portfolio must contain four digital files with music productions of your own. Combinations with other art forms (video, theatre, dance, interactive media) and original compositions are meriting.
For each production, you must account for
- composer
- author of texts
- arranger
- recording techniques
- mixing techniques
- names of performers
- a short description of work process and tools.
The portfolio must also contain
- comprehensive description of yourself: who you are, musical background, areas of
- musical interests (approx. 500 words)
- CV
- description of what you would like to develop during your master studies (approx. 500 words).

Test code: LS 27.0 Portfolio and presentation
Assessment: The test is qualifying and a basis for selection. In this test, your skills in music production are assessed. Grades: 0 – 25, pass 10 – 25, fail 0 – 9.
You will receive your results via e-mail. Passing applicants will proceed to the next test.
Test 2 – Music- and Media Production
This test is made online and tests your knowledge of basic technical terms and your technical skills in music and media production. Your sense of layout is also tested.
Applicants called to test 2 will receive special instructions on how to participate. Please note that test 2 is in Swedish as Swedish is the main language for the Master's program in Music Production at KMH.

Test time: 60 minutes
Assessment: The test is qualifying, and the result is evaluated on a pass (1) or fail (0) basis.
Test 3 – Conversation
The jury will have a conversation with you based on the material in your portfolio. During the interview, you can make a deeper presentation of yourself and enlarge on your ideas for your independent project/degree project. You are also welcome to ask questions about the programme and your studies at KMH.
Applicants called to test 3 will receive special instructions on how to participate. Please note that test 3 is in Swedish as Swedish is the main language for the master's program in music production at KMH.
Test code: LS 27.2 Conversation
Test time: ca 30 minuter
Assessment: The test is qualifying and a basis for selection. The conversation is assessed on a scale of 25 degrees, where 10 and above is passed. Grades: 0 – 25, pass 10 – 25, fail 0 – 9.
