Programme Content

Your degree project is the main focus during your studies. Already when applying you need to state a musical idea that you will develop further into an individual project together with a tutor and teacher.

The studies conclude with this independent individual project, the main emphasis of which is on an artistic-musical component supplemented by a reflective written account. The artistic-musical component often takes the form of a major independent concert or other artistic production.

The overall aim of the main instrument course is to further develop your awareness of, ability to reflect on and communicate your own music-creating within folk music. This is in order to control your musical expression, build on past experiences, put your music in context and explore new musical opportunities.

Based on instrumental techniques, repertoire profiling, interpretation and improvisation within the genre, as well as music and vocals to dance, you develop the ability to perform your music.

Workshops and seminars led by visiting teachers, both national and international, are organised regularly.
