About the programme

  • Deepen and intensify your artistic identity and refine your interpretative skills on your principal instrument or in singing. There are ample opportunities to broaden, deepen, and specialise your repertoire across all periods.
  • Work in a high-ambition, internationally oriented environment, gaining stage experience, artistic collaborations, and training to perform in Sweden and abroad.
  • Broaden your skills through elective courses, chamber music, and research-preparatory studies that strengthen both your artistic and academic profile.

Artistic excellence

The programme mirrors the professional music world, from solo performances to chamber music and symphony orchestras. You will gain extensive stage experience and artistic guidance that strengthens your personal profile, providing the tools to establish yourself on professional music stages both in Sweden and internationally.

Depth, stylistic precision, and artistic profiling

With a focus on artistic development, stylistic awareness, and personal profiling, the programme encourages active exploration of music’s role in today’s global culture. You will

  • refine your technical mastery and strive for excellence on your principal instrument,
  • develop your interpretative skills and artistic communication, both in ensemble settings and before an audience.

Admissions are highly selective, creating a dynamic environment where you work alongside ambitious, motivated musicians who share a commitment to artistic excellence.

Defining your artistic identity

The master’s programme culminates in an independent artistic project designed to deepen your interpretative skills, artistic profile, and methodological precision. This project allows you to translate your ideas into a professional context, producing work that positions you in the international music scene.

Supporting the project are two research-preparatory courses, offering advanced perspectives and methods for interpretation. The “Independent Project” course includes individual tuition on your principal instrument and supervision focused on artistic reflection and process. The work concludes with a graduation concert and a reflective written component documenting methodology, process, and artistic decisions.

Academic and artistic excellence

The programme combines advanced performance with in-depth theoretical study, providing a solid foundation for professional work and artistic research. It develops your specialist skills and artistic expertise, equipping you with the reflection, methodology, and analytical rigour essential for a successful career in music.
